Temp my Tummy Tuesday


This is a yummy bread. The glaze makes this bread wonderful!
Lemon Bread
Cream together until light & creamy:
1cup sugar
2 beaten eggs
6 Tbsp shortening
1 lemon rind
Sift together, add and blend well with above:
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup walnuts (optional)
Pour into greased & floured loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 min. Cool bread for 5 min, turn right side up over cake rack. while hot, glaze with juice of a 1lemon & 1/2 cup sugar.

I never heard of Lemon Bread before. This sounds refreshing and delicious.

I am not a fan of lemon favored food but this does sound yummy.
