The flute

Well our daughter SS has decided to take up the flute. I am excited for her cause I did play the flute for 1 yr in elementary school, but mainly because her grandma & aunt both played the flute for many years. So we asked WH’s sister if we could have the flute, she said sure and mailed it to us. The only problem is it needs a good cleaning and some pads replaced. We got an estimate and it will be around a $100 to get it up to date. I could rent one for $28 a month or buy a cheap one for $90. But I think restoring this heirloom is the best Idea. She is starting this week and the flute won’t be done in time so we have to rent one for a month until it is back. I just hope after all this she doesn’t play it for a week and decide “oh I don’t want to do it any more” !
This is a before pic. I will post an after pic. as soon as it gets back.

Cool Jamey, that's neat that you have an heirloom!

That is so neat! I hope she keeps up with it and carry on the family tradition too. That would be nice but then again, she's a girl like us , we change our minds in a whim! :) Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Right on. When she learns some tunes, perhaps she and I can sit down and have a flute fest. Yes...I played. No...I wasn't that good.
